It is a dangerous memory resident parasitic virus. It hooks INT 21h and writes itself to the beginning of .COM files that are executed. It erases the disk sectors, and contains the text string:

Jackal

Description Jackal

Jackal is a dangerous memory resident multipartite virus. On execution of infected file it traces INT 13h, 15h, 21h, 40h and then hooks them. Then this virus hits MBR of hard drive, it changes the address of active boot sector and writes itself at this address. On system booting the virus body will be executed instead of original boot sector. Then this virus writes itself at the end of COM- and EXE-files that are accessed.
Sometimes it calls trigger routine, this routine formats the hard drive sectors. The virus hooks INT 9 (keyboard) also and on Alt-Ctrl-Del pressing it tries to stay memory resident after rebooting: it restores the interrupt table, clears the screen e.t.c.
This virus contains the internal string "JaĻckĻal".

These are dangerous memory resident parasitic viruses. They hook INT 21h and writes itself to the end of .COM files that are executed.

Depending on the system time it beeps by internal system speaker and halts PC. It contains the strings:

Jackel.713
It copies itself to the memory at the address 8000:0100, and does not fix MCB list. It might halt PC. While infecting this virus disables some anti-virus monitors like TBSCAN and VSAFE. It deletes the files:
TI-VIR.DAT
CHKLIST.CPS

SCANVAL.VAL

It also contains the text string:
