This is a benign memory resident stealth boot virus. It hooks INT 13h, and writes itself to the MBR sector of the hard drive and to the boot sectors on the A: floppy drive. When the virus is loaded from an infected floppy drive, it writes itself to the MBR sector of the hard drive. Floppy disks are infected when they are accessed.
On the 3rd of May, the virus displays the following message and waits for any key to be pressed:
El conocimiento eleva,
y desde lo alto se ve mejor.

Description Nightmare.1024
It is a very dangerous nonmemory resident parasitic virus. It searches for .COM files, then writes itself to the beginning of the file. While saving the original file beginning the virus encrypts it. The virus deletes the CHKLIST.MS file. On 18 of any month the virus erases FAT of the C: drive, decrypts and displays the message:

These are memory resident parasitic viruses. They hook INT 1Ch, 21h and write themselves to the beginning of COM files that are executed. The viruses contain the text:
NIK
"Nik.442" is a dangerous virus, depending on its counter it corrupts the CMOS. "Nik.546" slowly turns off the screen by using the VGA features.
