There are very dangerous memory resident parasitic viruses. They hook INT 21h.
Plovdiv.800
It copies itself to two areas of the system memory: the DOS data area at address 0000:0600 and the highest address of 640K RAM. It writes itself to the beginning of .COM files. It formats the disk sectors, and contains the texts:

Plovdiv.984,1000
They write themselves to the end of .COM and .EXE files. They format the disk sectors, contain the texts:

Description NoDbf.1000

It is not a dangerous memory resident parasitic virus. It hooks INT 21h and writes itself to the end of EXE files that are executed or opened. The virus does not infect files with names that are finished with digit or "EB" or "ST" (WEB, AIDS). The virus also compares file name extension with "DBF" and cancels attempts to open these files.

There are not dangerous memory resident parasitic viruses. They hooks INT 21h and write themselves to the end of COM and EXE files that are accessed. Some of these viruses infect COM files in incorrect way, these files halt the system being executed. The viruses contain the text strings:

NoFrills.Dudley
It is a harmless polymorphic virus. It contains the text string:
[Oi Dudley!][PuKE]

NoFrills.Kcat.1358
It is a very dangerous memory resident parasitic virus. It hooks INT 9, 21h and writes itself to the end of COM and EXE files that are executed, opened, or while accessing to the file attributes. The virus corrupts EXE files while infecting them.
The virus creates the C:WIN386.DAT and writes into there the keystrokes that are entered. The virus contains the text strings:
