Description Taz Family

These are dangerous memory resident parasitic encrypted viruses. They hook INT 1Ch, 21h and write themselves to the end of .COM files that are accessed. While infecting a file they check the file name and delete some anti-virus programs. "Taz.995" beeps on any INT 1Ch call. "Taz.1041" displays the message on execution of some anti-virus programs. The viruses contain the text strings:

Babilon.1000

Description Babilon.1000

It is a harmless memory resident parasitic stealth virus. It hooks INT 21h and writes itself to the end of COM and EXE files that are executed. While opening an infected file or under debugger the virus disinfects it. The virus contains the text string:

Baboon

Description Baboon

This is a dangerous boot virus. It writes itself to the boot sectors of floppy disks and to the MBR of the hard drive. It infects hard drive while loading from infected floppy drive, then it hooks INT 13h and infects floppy disks. On September 11 it erases hard drive sectors.
