Ugur.1297

Description Ugur.1297

It's a memory resident parasitic virus. It hooks INT 21h and writes itself to the end of COM- and EXE-files. It contains the internal text message: "UGUR MUMCU öLMEDi..". This virus checks the first letter of this message and if it is corrected the virus erases the disk sectors.

Choleepa

Description Choleepa

Lots of users are worried about the text string "CHOLEEPA" appearing on the second sector (0/0/2 - track/head/sector) on their hard drives. After long investigation, we've found a reason. This is neither a virus nor a Trojan horse, but just a joke - the string is dropped by some software (EZ driver?) that is distributed with Seagate hard drives (over 500M). These disks have the text string being "pre-installed" on the second physical sector.

Cholera Family

Description Cholera Family

These are dangerous memory resident parasitic viruses. They hook INT 21h and write themselves to the end of .COM- and .EXE-files that are executed. They infect some files incorrectly, these files halt the system on execution. Depending on the system time these viruses also hook INT 08h and delay on each timer tick. They contain the internal text strings:
"Cholera.a": Cholera v1.0 by dr Hellraiser 94-02-03
"Cholera.b": Cholera v2.0 by dr Fleischman 93-12-29
