This program appears to be a standard MS Windows shortcut (a .LNK file). When this file is launched, a small program written in BAT will attempt to replace all the short cuts in the current directory with itself. This malicious file is 1811 bytes in size. It contains the following text string:all

It is a harmless nonmemory resident parasitic virus. It searches for .COM files, then writes itself to the end of the file. The virus does not manifest itself in any way, it contains the text strings:

This is a very dangerous non memory-resident parasitic virus. It searches for COM files, then writes itself to the end of the file. The virus delete *.ZIP and ANTI-VIR.DAT files. On October 21st it erases the C: disk sectors and displays the message:
Happy Birthday Freaky!
The virus also contains the text strings, some of them are encrypted:
