This is a harmless memory resident parasitic Win9x virus. It stays in the system memory as a hidden process, looks for applications that are run, stores their names, and infects these files when they are terminated (i.e., the virus gets file names when they are active, but infects them after the moment these applications have been closed). The virus does not manifest itself in any way, but it has a bug that stops an infected application from running under WinNT. The virus contains the following text string: [TeCaTa livez here]

LTS.271
Description LTS.271
These are dangerous nonmemory resident parasitic viruses. They search for .COM files and writes themselves to the end ("LTS.271"), or to beginning ("LTS.291") of the file. Depending on the system date these viruses display the message and reboot computer: (C)Long Tall Silver
"LTS.271" also erases the disk sectors.
